Keep Up with Cleaning

When you vacuum regularly and wipe down surfaces in your home, you can largely limit the amount of dust present.

Somewhere between 8 and 12 on the MERV scale usually indicates an air filter is good for a residential HVAC system. Anything weaker than that will allow too many particles through. Anything stronger will block airflow into the system.

The bottom line is that air inside your home can quickly become stale. When the weather is nice outside and temperatures are mild, go ahead and open your windows for a couple of hours during the day. This is a great way to bring in some fresh air and boost the ventilation in your home. You don’t have to do this every single day, but the more often that you can open windows and allow some fresh air in, the better.
